Two – and four-legged friends are invited to join the BC SPCA Victoria Branch and Wild ARC at Paws for a Cause on September 8th for a delicious selection of food, a dog-friendly beer garden, activities for kids and games for dogs.

The BC SPCA Victoria Branch and Wild ARC will host a crowd of animal lovers and their pups at Paws for a Cause, proudly sponsored by Hill’s® Science Diet®, at Clover Point Park on Sunday, Sept. 8.

The event starts with a community walk featuring dogs of every size and shape. “After the walk be sure to stay for a Wild ARC rehabilitated gull release and listen to live music by the Chris Millington Trio,” says Tess Repenning, BC SPCA manager, peer-to-peer and community fundraising.

After the walk, the Paws for a Cause festival includes a delicious selection of food, a dog-friendly beer garden, activities for kids and games for dogs.

“Paws for a Cause is an amazing opportunity to support animals in need right across the province and connect local animal lovers with their neighbours in the community.” Repenning says it’s not too late to sign up – plus, the process is simple.

“Anyone who’d like to attend is asked to visit our website and sign up to fundraise as an individual, a team of family and friends, or a corporate group. No matter what you choose, you’ll enjoy fundraising support in the lead up to the event, and a guaranteed day of fun for everyone.”

The site also outlines how your participation and fundraising dollars can help protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the event and the walk begins at noon. Stay for the festival, which runs until 2 p.m.
